Passport & Visa Requirements

A passport valid for at least six months from the intended date of travel is required by all nationals.

Nationals of Britain, Australia, Canada, USA and other EU countries do not require a visa for stays of up to 90 days. However, nationals of Estonia, Cyprus, Malta and Latvia do require a visa to enter into Sao Paulo, Brazil.

All nationals must possess sufficient funds to cover their stay in the city and a return or onward journey ticket.

When to visit Sao Paulo

San Paulo is an all-year destination but travelers need to consider several weather conditionings before visiting certain places in the city. Summer months, from mid-December to mid-March can be hot and sticky while mid June to mid September are the winter months when it can get quite cold. Hence, the intermediate months are the best time to visit Sao Paulo.

Sao Paulo enjoys a mild and sunny weather all through the year. The city experiences its lowest temperature during July when the temperature dips to around 12 degree Celsius. February is the hottest month when the mercury touches a high of 27 degree Celsius. Most of rainfall in the city falls during the summer months. August is the driest month whereas February is the wettest month in Sao Paulo.

Currency and Language

Currency:The unit of currency used in Sao Paulo, Brazil is the Brazil Reais. Most shops in the city accept only local currency and credit cards are only accepted in bigger shops and restaurants.

Language:The majority of population in Sao Paulo speaks Portuguese. Other languages spoken by the immigrants from various countries include Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
