Batiment Des Forces Motrices:Built in 1886, this was the first hydro electric plant in Geneva. This huge building serves as a massive opera house today, having a capacity to accommodate 985 people.

Carouge:Carouge is a neighboring town of Geneva, modeled after the French city of Nice. Located just over L`Arve River, this Mediterranean style hamlet where artisans and craftsmen can be seen plying different trades.

Mount Saleve:Mount Saleve sits pretty at a distance of just 5 km from the Geneva city center. Almost like a background to the city, this mountain offers a bird`s eye view of the city from the top. A cable car can take you the peak from where you can enjoy the fascinating views of the city and Mount Alps.

Plainpalais Cemetery:Resting place of the Geneva city`s known and famous citizens, the Plainpalais Cemetery features interesting gravestones that date back to 1482. Prominent citizens who rest here include the likes of James Fazy, John Calvin, Henri Dufour, Augustin de Candolleand Sergio Vieira de Mello, who was the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Owing to Geneva`s altitude, the temperature doesn`t rise higher than 25 degree Celsius but can dip below zero degrees Celsius. October to April is the best time to visit for ski lovers.
