Thimphu is the capital and largest city of Bhutan. Located in the western central part of the country, there are two ways through which you can get into the city. You can either choose to fly down to Paro Airport, this is Bhutan`s sole international airport, situated in the south west of the country and served only by the country`s flag carrier Druk Air. You can catch a Druk Air flight from the following places that include Bangkok, Kolkata, Delhi, Dhaka, Gaya, Kathmandu, Siliguri (Bagdora) and Guwahati. Apart from this, the other entry point is Bagdogra Airport. Serving the city of Siliguri in the neighboring Indian state of West Bengal, Bagdogra is a four hour drive from the Bhutanese border town of Phuentsholing. |
