Berlin Tegel "Otto Lilienthal" Airport, located 8 km north of the city, is the primary international airport serving Berlin. Known worldwide for its hexagonal terminal, this one is the biggest airport serving the city. This airport is however slated to close in 2012 after the completion of the Berlin-Brandenburg Airport which will handle all national and international flights to and from Berlin. Tegel Airport is the main hub for Air Berlin and is the focus city for Lufthansa. It handles about 500 flights daily and exceeds 12 million travelers annually.
