South African Airways (SA) is the national airline of South Africa. The airline has its hubs located at Johannesburg and Cape Town. The Airline is popularly known as Afrikaans. It is the member of Star Alliance group and commutes to five domestic destinations and 32 international destinations in 26 countries in Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania. South African Airways was founded in 1934 after the Union Airways was bought by South African Government. The airline also operates at the inter-continental routes of Buenos Aires, New York City, Sao Paulo, Washington, D.C., London, Frankfurt, Munich, Mumbai, Hong Kong and Perth. The airline currently has a fleet of 55 aircrafts.

The South African Airways offers frequent flier program Skywards to its travelers, in association with Emirates Airlines. The airline serves two classes of traveling, Premium and Economy class. In the Premium class, there are 180 degree lie-flat seats with 73 inches seat pitch and articulated armrest. The Premium class cabin separate seat rows with 2-2-2 seating configuration with personal 10.4 inches wide TV screen on-demand audio and video entertainment. The South African Airways baggage policy allows travelers to bring in checked baggage with weight restriction of 66 lbs in Premium class and 44 lbs in Economy class. The airline accepts 2 pieces of checked baggage in Premium class and one piece is allowed in the Economy class per traveler. For cabin baggage the weight restriction is 17.6 lbs in all classes of travel with each traveler allowed with 2 pieces each.
